Phathuxolo Jozana

Each success start with struggles. I am Phathuxolo Jozana the future Civil Engineer produced by Kayamandi High School and Vision K. Today I am one of the people who are striving for success in Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

I started Vision K when I was doing my Grade 10 and stayed till Grade 12. I learned many things about life and how to control it. I am a guy who likes to listen carefully and learn. I have applied those skill in Vision K and they worked for me because now I am in tertiary and doing well in my studies.

As you grow things change and so do experiences. Now I am in tertiary and living tertiary life where you do anything you like whenever you want to. I live in Sandenburgh Residence, which is a one-gender residence and I enjoy living there because there are no girls to run after, you just get a visit. Tertiary life is interesting as is the toughness of Engineering. One needs to look after his/her actions. I am not interested in other kinds of life; I am just interested in being me. By the way, I miss my school and the Vision K meetings.

I would like to leave a message to all those who are still in school:

The best chance is in school and that is where you get all the weapons of tertiary, and that start in Grade 10. But you miss it in grade 10, grade 11 is for you, and even if you miss it in grade 10 and 11 like I did even in grade 12 you still have a chance but you will have to work harder. Everything is possible as far as you are concerned, never give up in life; only give up on bad things.

Vusumzi Ncapayi

My name is Vusumzi Ncapayi, I am 19 years old. I have been one of the privileged people who were selected to be part of Vision K. Being part of Vision K has been an incredible experience. Over the past 3 years I have learned some very important things that I have been able to apply in my daily life.

At Vision K I was encouraged and inspired to reach for my goals and I also got the support I needed to reach those goals. One of the things I enjoyed at Vision K was socialising with other teenagers from Kayamandi, I was able to make a lot friends and this also boosted my self-esteem a lot.

Currently, I’m studying Chemical Engineering at Stellenbosch University and I’m loving it although it is a lot more difficult than school. I think Vision K will be part of my life for many more years to come because it has made a huge difference in my life. I wish there were a lot of programmes like Vision K because that way a lot more teenagers could be able experience what I have experienced and the youth of Kayamandi would prosper and become active citizens of our country.

Thembisile Shuan Mtintsilana

Life is too good when you know which road you must take but it has its consequences. I am Thembisile Shuan Mtintsilana. I was born in 1989/10/28. I grow up not knowing my father so I’ve been raised by a single parent. I took early classes in Nyanga but in 1997 we moved to Stellenbosch and I started in grade 2 In Ikaya Primary School. Being a child that is raised by a single parent till you reach your high school you feeling hopeless and not having future more special your parent is not educated. In most cases you ended up making wrong decisions because no-one is behind you and encouraging you, supporting you and giving you hope that you can reach your success and achieving your dreams. You will find out that life is difficult for you and you may decide to drop at school, so when you drop at school you have two choices and decision you must made its either you find a proper work or you working in people’s pockets.

When I was in grade 9 I heard about Vision k and likely a friend of mine was in grade 10 so this friend joins Vision K and he came back telling me about this program and the things they do on this program. I tell myself I will join this program next year.

I joined Vision K with the help of a friend of mine. My life started to changed and i realized that in life you will not always find happiness, life has its up and downs. Vision K give me a key that I must decided which door I must open by this key. It’s either I open the door of success or a door of non-achievement, if you know what I’m saying.

I was a child not having hope, dreams and hobbies but Vision k give me all the keys I need in life and showed me the roads I must take if I want to be something and be able to help my parents and the community. All I can say life is good when you know which road you must take.
I can say I almost reach my dreams because of Vision K I’m now finishing my diploma of Financial Accounting. I find a hobby with the help of Vision K. I am good cyclist.

I know when I’m feeling depressed, lost, stressed and confused alcohol is not the medicine that may help me to pass all those things. I also know if you want to successes in life don’t always thinking for yourself and telling yourself you are the best and other people are nothing I find all this things in Vision K and they help me a lot and now I don’t know what to say anymore but I know life is bright like a moon in the darkest place.
